All national airways (Batik air, Citilink, Garuda, Lion air, Namair, Sriwijaya air) has a direct flight from Jakarta’ Soekarno-Hatta International Airport [CGK] to Pangkal Pinang’ Depati Amir Airport [PGK]. It takes about 45 minutes flight.

“Depati Amir Airport / Pangkal Pinang Airport” is about 10 km from Pangkal Pinang city. Pangkal Pinang is the capitol of Bangka-Belitung Province.

Jakarta to Belitung

All national airways (Batik air, Citilink, Garuda, Lion air, Namair, Sriwijaya air) has a flight from Jakarta (Soekarno-Hatta International Airport [CGK]) to Tanjung Pandan ( H.A.S. Hanandjoeddin Airport [TJQ]) and vice versa. Flight time is around 45 minutes.

“H.A.S. Hanandjoeddin Airport” (formerly named ‘Buluh Tumbang Airport’) is about 15km from Tanjung Pandan city. Tanjung Pandan is capitol of Belitung Regency.

Belitong or belitung (in English: Billiton) is an island on the east coast of Sumatra in the Java Sea. It is now easier to access those island since rapid growing tourist industry (especially to Belitung island) cause of national bestselling novel of the Laskar Pelangi (Rainbow troops) by Andrea Hirata.

On Belitung island there is no taxi.  Public transportation is only use for children to go to school or come home from school. Most people using motorcycle to travel around. But we can rent a car with driver and most driver can also be a tour guide.

On most part of Belitung island, the road is smooth asphalt pavement and no traffic jam and most of the tourism objects are clean.

All tourism objects also free of charge to access.

Belitung people are multi ethnic but tolerance to each other. They are friendly to the foreigner.
